The death toll from a 6.2-magnitude earthquake in northwest China has risen to 148, with 117 people dead in Gansu province, making it the worst in the region in nine years. In Qinghai province, which borders Gansu, 31 people were killed. The earthquake has also injured 781 people in Gansu, with 311 temporary relocation sites set up and 112,346 people relocated so far. 499 individuals have been discharged from the hospital, while 282 people remain hospitalized, 17 of them in critical condition and 69 severely injured. This quake is China’s deadliest since 2014.
